African Center for Career Enhancement and Skill Support (ACCESS)
ACCESS is a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supported project under the Exceed Initiative with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is being implemented by a consortium of 7 universities (6 African universities) coordinated by Leipzig University.
As part of activities for 2022, a 5-day Summer School will be hosted by the partner universities, IRGIB Africa University, from 28 March to 1 April 2022 in Cotonou – Benin.
ACCESS, therefore, is inviting applications from interested Masters and PhD students of KNUST to participate in this Summer School in Benin. The project will provide participants with flight to and from Benin as well as accommodation.
Content of the KNUST Summer School
The Summer School will explore issues around the topic “Improving graduate employability through Service-Learning implementation in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs): Academic and Business Collaboration”.
Participants are expected to acquire theoretical and practical insights on service learning design and implementation at HEIs with practical experiences from Benin and other African countries. This will be delivered through a mix of lecture and workshop sessions.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and network with other participants from Benin, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tunisia and Germany.
Due to the international nature of the participants most parts of the Summer School will be held in English.

NB: Applicants must
- Be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
- Possess a valid passport
- Be available in Ghana for travel arrangement and processes
- Be English language proficient
