The Jericho Wall Police Station, located at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), was commissioned by His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asante Hene, on March 17th, 2023. The commissioning was part of the activities to commemorate the 56th Congregation of the university.

It is anticipated that the new police station, which will service both the university and the local community, will improve overall campus security at KNUST. During the commissioning ceremony, the KNUST Motorbike Patrols were also introduced in addition to the police station.
This initiative, aimed at improving police visibility and incident response time on university campuses, will ensure motorized police patrols on the campuses of various universities.
The University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani, was the first to benefit from this initiative, with the KNUST being the second.

Present at the commissioning ceremony were distinguished guests including the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Deputy Education Minister, Rev John Ntim Fourjour, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Rita Akosua Dickinson, the Director-General/NPD, COP/Paul Manly Awini, DG/HRD, COP/Frederick Adu Anim, and other senior police officers and officials of the university.
In summary, the commissioning of the Jericho Wall Police Station and the launch of the KNUST Motorbikes Patrols were significant steps towards enhancing security on the KNUST campus and improving police visibility on university campuses across the country.
