One KNUST Old Student and one Level-200 Student have been remanded for their role in the 2022 KNUST Riot that happened between Unity Hall and University Hall popularly known as Katanga Hall.
In connection with the ongoing police investigation into the rioting at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, two additional people have been detained. The level 200 university student suspect Francis Tutu Atuahene, also known as Aroma, was captured on camera during the melee flashing an aggressive weapon among other things.
Daniel Osei Bonsu, a suspect who graduated from the school in 2020, was also caught vandalising property on the school. His alias is Saint.
The Asokore Mampong Magistrate Court ordered the two to be held in police custody until September 8, 2022 after they were presented to the court.
As a result, there are now three (3) people who have been detained thus far. The investigation is currently ongoing in an effort to apprehend all additional offenders.
