KNUST ADMISSION INTO LAND ECONOMY AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 2022/2023

Land Economy

Land Economy is the use of disciplines of economics, law, environmental studies and mathematics to form a well-rounded perspective in policy making or current affairs. It applies specifically the disciplines of economics, law and planning for analysis of the administration of land use, urban areas and interactions with the environment. Here in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Land Economy is composed of courses which include Valuation, Law, Building Construction, etc. Students are taught to grasp various concepts relating to land use and planning to handle issues in various sectors of work. Land Economy is known to be a very flexible programme which enables one to easily find a job or further his or her studies due to the skills acquired in the course of study.

Entry Level

Under Land Economics in KNUST, the university offers two four-years undergraduate courses and two one-year postgraduate courses as well as a four-year PhD programme.

This programme is taught full time and part time at most levels.

Entry Requirements

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

  1. Credit passes in three (3) elective subjects including Economics, Geography and a third subject relevant to the Land Economics programme. These include French, Literature in English, History, Government and other related subjects.
  2. Credit passes in three (3) elective subjects including Economics and two others from Elective Mathematics, Government, Technical Drawing, General Knowledge in Art and other related subjects.

A/O LEVEL APPLICANTS

Five (5) credit passes at the O’ Level including English and Mathematics, plus three (3) A’s level passes, two of which shall be Economics and Geography which must be a grade not below C.

MATURE APPLICANTS

Applicants should be at least twenty-five (25) years at the time of submitting the application.

Either:

  1. Five (5) credits at the O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics.

OR

  • WASSCE/SSSCE credit passes in three (3) elective subjects including Economics and Geography or should hold a Diploma/Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management.

In the case of Diploma holders, the applicant must have at least three (3) years working experience.
