College of Humanities and Social Sciences consists of Four Faculties, sixteen (16) Departments, and a Research Centre. The restructuring of academic and administrative departments into Colleges was in keeping with the University’s goal of achieving good governance and academic excellence.
Institutional linkages, income production, gift receipts, laboratory renovations, acquisition of facilities to boost teaching and learning, presentations at conferences, workshops, and seminars, among other things, all improved dramatically this year. In comparison, the research output was superior. In addition, valuable services of many kinds were provided to the institution, the local and international communities, and capacity building was boosted.
The College is committed to assuring the fulfillment of its fundamental goal of research and publication, as well as creating capacity to strengthen its staff. Despite the fact that the college faces numerous challenges, including insufficient infrastructure, particularly staff offices, spacious laboratories, workshops, and equipment to enable them to function effectively, as well as growing student numbers and an untenable student-staff ratio, some progress has been made in the areas of teaching, learning, and research.
