By the directives of the Ministry of National Security as communicated by KNUST Security Services, all KNUST Staff are being informed that Ghana remains a target of terrorist attack and that the Ministry has directed an enhancement of security measures in all Institutions against this threat.
In line with that, the University Community is to observe and implement the following counter-terrorism security measures:
All members of the University Community are to wear or carry along their ID cards to help distinguish between members, visitors and strangers.
Organizers of mass and public events on campus are to arrange with the University Security Services to beef-up security for the events.
All Community members are to be extra vigilant and report strangers, loiterers, and suspicious assembly of people to the University Security Services or rightful authorities for further action.
Members of the University Community are to be mindful of negative faith/ideological-inspired preaching or indoctrination.
Members of the University Community are to cooperate with the Security Services in Access Control measures such as screening, searching and traffic control on campus.
Colleges /Institutes /Directorates/Departments / Units are to implement basic counter-terrorism protective security measures such as correct vehicle parking, erection of protective bollards, installation of CCTV cameras, good illumination, visitor and mail screening, etc.
