KNUST SRC President During Budget Read Talked about KNUST Police Patrol Vehicles
Mr. Speaker, I know my friends and honorable members from the Non-residential caucus will be excited to hear this; as part of the SRC’s commitment to augment Security off campus, two pickups would be purchased for the KNUST Police Service. Our checks indicate that 1 vehicle will cost about GHC 48,000.00. Hence the estimated budget to see to the implementation of this project will amount to GHC96,000.00. Its important to note that whilst increasing the patrol off-campus we must provide the needed apparatus for its effectiveness, Students residing off-campus would hugely benefit from this project as the patrols by the Policemen with these vehicles will reduce crimes and deal with miscreants around places where students are dominant. Procurement process for this particular project is expected to begin this month and we anticipate the Commissioning in the month of May.
