Political Studies or Political Science is a programme that is focused on publishing reliable research in all areas of politics and international relations. It simply entails the systematic study of the government and politics. BA Political Science has a cut off point of aggregate 16 for the 2021/2022 academic year in Knust.

This programme is taught full time and part time at most levels.
Entry Requirements For Political Science
WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS
Credit passes in three (3) elective subjects including Economics, Geography and a third subject relevant to the Political Science programme. These include French, Literature in English, History, Government and other related subjects.
Credit passes in three (3) elective subjects including Economics and two others from Elective Mathematics, Government, Technical Drawing, General Knowledge in Art and other related subjects.
A/O LEVEL APPLICANTS
Five (5) credit passes at the O’ Level including English and Mathematics, plus three (3) A’s level passes including History and/or Government and any one or two of which shall be Economics, Geography, French, Religious Studies and Ghanaian Language which must be a grade not below C.
MATURE APPLICANTS
Applicants should be at least twenty-five (25) years at the time of submitting the application.
Either:
Five (5) credits at the O’ Level including English Language, Mathematics, History and/or Government
OR
WASSCE/SSSCE credit passes in three (3) elective subjects including Economics and Geography as well as History and/or Government. Applicants must also pass a written examination and an interview.
In the case of Diploma holders, the applicant must have at least three (3) years working experience.
